The five most
beautiful hikes in ibiza
Es Portitxol
A classic route that follows a well-trodden northern path with deep forest on one side and astonishing sea views on the other. Descending to the water, we are met with a view of perhaps the most beautiful bay in all of Ibiza, a semi-circular jewel resembling a caldera. After swimming at this magnificent bay surrounded by fisherman’s huts, we continue to an extraordinary rock formation – a sheer, angular, geometrical wall that we can climb on foot.
Natural Pools of the North
A hike for adventurous water lovers, this extraordinary coastal route offers more opportunities for swimming than any other. Exploring lunar landscapes, pine-covered cliffs and secret caves, we’ll stick close to the water’s edge and refresh ourselves in a series of crystalline natural saltwater pools where we swim among Ibiza’s most ancient and primitive natural scenery. Refreshing, reenergising and invigorating, this hike is especially powerful at sunset.
Ses Balandres
Perhaps the most beautiful fisherman’s path in all of Ibiza, this coast-hugging trail takes hikers through traditional villages and silent forests into the island’s most authentic wilderness. Plunging between dramatic sea cliffs, we discover a lost route to the sea, scrambling over rugged rock formations to descend to untouched, isolated beaches where clusters of ancient fisherman’s huts and pristine turquoise waters await.
Es Vedrà
Ibiza’s most iconic hike, combining the majestic beauty of Es Vedrà – the vast and mystical limestone rock rising sharply from the Mediterranean – with the transformative power of the location. Experience the sheer magnitude of Ibiza’s most iconic sight from a height of 400 metres and look down over Es Vedrà and the infinite blue horizon. Dissolve into rare 360-degree views of the island, taking in cliffs, pine forests and extraordinary views to Formentera and the Spanish mainland.
Cala San Vicente
This mesmerizing hike follows forest and coast paths through raw, primitive and untouched landscapes in the far northeast of Ibiza. Experience spectacular views, incredible swimming spots and an extraordinary rock arch, before discovering the sacred cave of Es Cuilleram. This Punic sanctuary, some 150m above sea level, is where Ibiza’s ancient population worshipped Tanit, the Great Mother Goddess, in a natural cavern with otherworldly views out across the Mediterranean.
