DALT VILA, THE PORT AND THE HISTORIC QUARTER: A SHOPPING GUIDE

THERE’S NO MORE ATMOSPHERIC PLACE TO FALL FOR IBIZA’S BOUTIQUE CHARMS.

Start at the base of the majestic Portal de Ses Taules, where the colonnaded MERCAT VELL is Ibiza’s oldest and most charming food market. A vintage shop in the sun-soaked plaza – HOLALA – stocks original Levi 501s and a serious selection of rock ’n’ roll T-shirts.

Strolling up the ramp – take note of the headless Roman statues on either side of the gate – to the right through the tunnel is PLAÇA DE SA VILA, home to pretty pavement boutiques packed with floaty, white ADLIB creations, traditional handwoven espardenyes at S’ESPARDENYA and beautiful, bohemian jewellery. Pick up a classic Mediterranean basket and some cute linen childrenswear at DIVINA before winding up past LA OLIVA – a nostalgic, French-inspired restaurant that is the perfect place for a pit stop – or postcard-pretty S’ESCALINATA, where tapas and cocktails are served on cushion-clad stairs overlooking the Old Town.

ANNIE’S IBIZA has become Ibiza’s most iconic fashion destination, part boutique, part boudoir, where owner and fashion powerhouse ANNIE DOBLE dresses the likes of Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Kendall Jenner in jaw-dropping vintage gowns, gleaming sequins and pitch-perfect party dresses. By night, the store is a revolving door of Ibiza’s beautiful party people.

Leaving Dalt Vila, head down into Ibiza’s elegant Paseo Vara de Rey, home to upscale fashion brands such as MAJE, SANDRO and OSÉREE, whose feather-trimmed lounge suits and crystal-studded one-pieces are a must-have for the DC-10 set.

Weaving back towards the historic fisherman’s port – stopping first at iconic VICENTE GANESHA for cult vintage pieces vintage and Indian block-print pyjamas – explore tiny backstreets thronging with night markets, jewellery stalls and artisan craftsmen from India, Bali and beyond.
